Custom Kit Car Assembly
Your Subtitle text

Who wouldn't want their own personal hot rod?  I know I did and in '06 I started a Factory Five Mk 3 Roadster after attending the build school at Mott Community College.  In spite of my best efforts I had to delay my desire to complete and keep the car.  Working for the team I was that year didn't give me the free time to finish the car, let alone drive it.  The car was sold to and completed by Jeff Hiestand who resides in South Carolina.  Click on the completed kit car page to see a pic and contact Jeff for a reference.

Fast forward to today and I now have the free time during the racing off season (October to February) and the opportunity to get into the business of custom kit car assembly.  While many choose to build these cars themselves, others simply do not have the time, tools, workspace and or experience to pull off this kind of project.  I have all of these elements in place and will build your car as if it were my own with an eye for detail that only a career in racing can develop.

Pricing

Assembly
Factory Five Mk 4 Roadster       $3,000
Factory Five Type 65 Coupe      $3,500
Factory Five '33 Hot Rod            $3,000
Factory Five Challenge Car        $2,500
Factory Five GTM                       $5,000

  • I will need you to send a rear end with the '33 which I will install as part of the base assembly price.
  • I will need you to send a set of wheels and tires for transportation purposes with any of the above kits.

Parts Prep
The base kits, Challenge Car and GTM require additional chassis parts that may need to be prepared before installation.  If you send these parts to me ready to go I will install then for no additional charge.  If however, they need to be cleaned or otherwise prepped I will perform this service for an additional $500 plus parts and supplies.

Engine and Gearbox
I will install your engine and gearbox for an additional $500 plus parts and fluids.

Painting

I will fit the body to the chassis so all the doors function and the gaps are close but painting and the prep work will have to be done by an outside vendor.  I do have connections with race teams that have their own paint shops and often moonlight on special projects like this.

Please understand that paint can range from $2,000 to $20,000.  After you have purchased your kit and secured my services I will place you in contact with a painter who you can directly review the details with.

Completion times

I anticipate that a typical build will take between six and eight weeks when all the parts are present and dependant on other commitments.  You can be assured that we will stay in contact on your build progress and since I don't get paid until it is done, I'm as motivated as you to get the car in your hands.

Production schedule

Racing is a very dynamic business and my availability will change from time to time.  Simply contact me and we will discuss a plan that will work for both of us.

Delivery and pick up

You will be reponsible for delivery and pick up of you project before and after completion.  I'm centrally located in Indianapolis, IN at zip code 46254.

Pickup or delivery and payment is due within 30 days of completion.  I will not purchase any parts or have any outside services performed, such as painting, on account.  All parts purchases and outside services must be prepaid or paid directly to the vendor.  No exceptions.

Other kits

I'm more than willing to consider building other kits from any reputable manufacturer on a case by case basis to be priced after I research the build requirements.
